Betting Odds

There are 3 types of odds. European or also known as decimal, UK and American.
The easiest for beginners are decimal odds and I advise you to use decimal odds as your first.

Decimal odds show how much you win per staked unit. Lets say that you bet 100$ on Milan to win a match on odds of 2.0. To calculate your possible winnings simply 100x2.0=200. Ofcourse I am gicing you a simple advise, the odds can be 1.85 or 2.53 or 5.55. Odds below 2.0 are for the favorites, while odds over 2.0 are for the underdogs.

UK or Fractional odds shows the profit you will have if your bet wins. It's easy to turn UK odds to decimal. Just add 1 to UK odds and you will get decimal ones. Lets say that we bet 100$ on Milan against Juventus at odds 4/5.
Payout= 100x(1+4/5)=180

American odds are very different than the previous two and they are nightmare for beginners. The odds can be positive or negative.
Positive American odds show you how much profit you will make from a stake of 100$. It's easy to calculate winnings if you bet 100 all the time, but how to calculate if you bet more or less than that.
Payout= Stake x (1 + US odds/100)

Example: Bet 50$ on draw at odds of +250
Payout: 50x 250/100= 125

Negative American odds show how much you need to stake to win 100$. The formula is: Stake x (1+ 100/US odds)
